Dress Code

Because a student's muscles and body placement are of utmost importance to their technique, we do not want clothing that hinders our teacher's observation and correction.  As we constantly strive to improve our school and the level of training, we are looking to develop a look which is more professional.  Dance class is not a fashion show and not the appropriate place to display the latest fad.

Any student who does not follow the dress code and/or hair code will receive a warning.  Three warnings will result in a written letter to the parent stating that if the dress code and/or hair code is not followed, the student will be an observer during the next class.  If you play sports, you have to wear the uniform or you do not play and sit on the bench.

Tardiness

The barre and warm-up exercises are the most important part of any dance class.  Because of this, students arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be allowed to dance and will instead be an observer for that day.  This rule was made with the dancer's health in mind -- muscles that are not properly warmed up are much more susceptible to injury.

Make-up Classes

Absences should be made up within the month of the absence.  Make-up classes can be made in an equal or lower level class.  No students are allowed to make-up a class in a higher level.

Cancellations

There may be times when class will have to be cancelled due to weather conditions.  All registered students for the day will receive a phone call when class is cancelled.  If you do not receive a phone call, this means that there will be class.  Cancelled classes can be made up in the same manner as missed classes.  Classes will not be rescheduled.

Withdrawal

Your enrollment oftentimes means turning other students away in an effort to control class size.  For this reason, tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE.  Consideration will be taken in extreme or special circumstances and is done so at the discretion of the school director.  If you are withdrawing at the end of the month, please inform the school office of this change so you will not be billed further.

Visitors and Observation

Visitors are not allowed in the classroom except by special arrangement.  Please be respectful of the faculty and the students by refraining from loud talking in the waiting area.  If young siblings must be brought along, please see that they stay in the waiting area and are accompanied by an adult at all times.  Children are not allowed in the office area.  Please be aware that outlets do not have plug covers, toddlers need to be supervised at all times!

Classes can be observed through our observation window at any time.  Please be respectful to the ongoing class and refrain from tapping on the window or interacting with students during class.
